North Myrtle Beach Real Estate

North Myrtle Beach was created in 1968 as the result of a merger of four coastal towns, Windy Hill, Crescent Beach, Ocean Drive and Cherry Grove. These areas maintain a distinct character to this day, especially for locals who remember when it was possible to drive on the flat, hard packed sandy beaches in the winter months. Ocean Drive has a walkable main street with a commercial district, lined with small restaurants, bars and shops, arcades and a seasonal amusement park; Cherry Grove has an inlet, two nature preserves and several neighborhoods with interior canals that connect to House Creek and the Atlantic Ocean.

There is a variety of real estate available in North Myrtle Beach, from small beach cottages, vacation rentals and single family homes to high-rise oceanfront condominiums and golf course properties. Many of the city’s year-round residents live in the quiet, family-oriented neighborhoods that make up the northwestern portion of Highway 17, or within one of the many country clubs in the area. One of the most popular neighborhoods on the ocean side of Highway 17 is Tilghman Beach, a quiet residential area with few high-rises and a setting nearby the Surf Golf and Beach Club.
